Welcome to the website that provides you with information on the theme 'Rethinking Agriculture in Development'.

Wageningen University and Research Centre is carrying out some work on this theme, including research on the role of agriculture in development. On December 14th 2006 a stakeholder meeting is to be held on this topic. For more information please see 'Stakeholder meeting '14th December'. We hope that this workshop and the information on the website will stimulate dialogue on the theme on an ongoing basis. Therefore the website will be updated regularly.

This website provides you with the following information:

* Working papers Wageningen University and Research Centre (Wageningen UR or WUR): this section includes final and half-products by the Wageningen University on the different subthemes which will also be discussed at the stakeholder meeting. These include the following draft reports:

  - 'The role of agriculture in achieving MDG1: an expert study', which is based on the review of 10 different reports, including the Sachs report.
